A Cortland man faces serious assault and burglary charges in Yates County after breaking into an apartment there.
On June 6 deputies arrested Brandon F. Paquin, 31, of Cortland, for assault, criminal mischief, and burglary.
The arrest followed an incident on Highland Drive where Paquin broke into an apartment through a window, damaged property, and assaulted a male non-resident.
Deputies responded to the scene around 11:30 a.m. and later located Paquin during a traffic stop. He was taken into custody and transported to Yates County Jail, where he awaits his arraignment in Yates County CAP Court.
