Two arrested after months long burglary investigation in Steuben County

After a months-long investigation, New York State Police have arrested Timothy F. Decker, 37, of Woodhull, and Jacob G. Vanness, 28, of Corning, for burglary and grand larceny.

The investigation began on August 24, 2023, when a zero-turn lawn mower and other equipment were reported stolen from a residence in Woodhull. Decker was arrested on May 21, 2024, and Vanness on May 28, 2024. Both were charged with Burglary in the 3rd degree and Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, both D felonies.

The men were processed at SP Painted Post and taken to Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment.
