Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard announced the arrest of Christine S. Shepherd, 51, of Caton earlier this week after two dogs were allowed to attack animals.

Shepherd was charged following an investigation into attacks on livestock by her two dogs.

Authorities allege that Shepherd violated a court order to secure her dogs, resulting in the animals causing damage and injury to livestock in Caton.

Shepherd faces charges of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, Reckless Endangerment of Property, and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.

Shepherd was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and has been released.
