Authorities in the city of Auburn have arrested a Mexican citizen following an investigation into course of sexual conduct with a minor.
According to law enforcement, the victim was under 11 years old, and the suspect, identified as Santiago Hernandez Huerta, was taken into custody on May 30.
He was taken into custody after being located by the Gun Involved Violence Elimination team and charged with course of sexual conduct against a child, which is a Class D felony.
Police say an investigation revealed that Huerta was found to have engaged in repeated acts of sexual conduct with a minor. After a forensic investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Huerta was taken into custody and held pending additional court action.
