Yankees take two of three from Angels

For the first time since 2019, the New York Yankees have won a series in Anaheim.

The Yankees (39-19) defeated the Los Angeles Angels (21-35), 8-3, on Thursday night at Angel Stadium.

Aaron Judge crushed his 18th home run of the season, a two-run shot that gave the Yankees a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning. Juan Soto had a bases-clearing triple, while Oswaldo Cabrera and Anthony Volpe added bases-loaded walks. Jose Trevino chipped in a sacrifice fly.

Carlos Rodón gave up three runs on three hits over six innings.

The Yankees will continue their road trip on Friday in San Francisco when they open a three-game series with the Giants. The first pitch is scheduled for 10:15 p.m.
