The Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association is thrilled to announce the 3rd Annual Seneca Lake PURE Beer Week, set for July 29 – August 4, 2024. This event, in collaboration with the Seneca Lake Order of Brewers, aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving Seneca Lake.

Nine craft breweries around Seneca Lake, including Lucky Hare Brewing, WeBe Brewing Company, Brewery Ardennes, Watershed Brewing Company, Seneca Lodge Brewing, Big aLICe Brewing, Scale House Brewery, Grist Iron Brewing Company, and Lake Drum Brewing, have committed to creating a special collaborative brew for this event. More breweries and local businesses are expected to join before the launch.

“This collaborative beer brings our community of breweries together to highlight the importance of Seneca Lake’s pure water, a vital ingredient in our beer,” said Derek Edinger, owner of Brewery Ardennes and founder of the Seneca Lake Order of Brewers.

On May 28, brewers from participating breweries gathered at Watershed Brewing in Geneva to craft 30 barrels of an Italian-style Pilsner named PURE Pils. This special brew will be available in each brewery’s taproom during PURE Beer Week, accompanied by information about the work of the Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association.

“We value our relationship with the Seneca Lake Order of Brewers and appreciate their dedication to the lake’s health,” said Bill Roege, President of Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association. “The funds raised help us protect Seneca Lake, crucial for our community’s wellbeing.”

Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association extends thanks to local businesses for their support, including Works Design Group for creating promotional materials, NY Craft Malt for donating grain, The Hop Guild for providing hops, and Brewers Supply Group for supplying yeast.
