Seneca Falls police arrested an Owego man after he fled authorities at a high rate of speed.
On May 28 around 8 p.m. police arrested Luke U. Reeves, 24, of Owego on several charges.
The incident began on May 24 when police were alerted to a motorcycle speeding on East Bayard Street.
Officers located the motorcycle, and while observing it, saw the operator, identified as Reeves, fail to stop at a stop sign. When police initiated a traffic stop with lights and sirens, Reeves accelerated away, reaching speeds over 100 MPH.
Reeves was later found and charged with multiple offenses, including failure to stop at a stop sign, speeding in excess of 55 MPH, failure to obey a police officer, reckless driving, unlawful fleeing, and obstruction of governmental administration.
He was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in Seneca Falls Town Court at a later date.
