First responders say three people were hurt in a crash that happened at the intersection of State Route 64 and Cannan Road in East Bloomfield on Monday.

Deputies responded to the scene where an 86-year-old Paul R. Heaney from Honeoye Falls failed to yield the right of way, resulting in a collision with a southbound Chevy Volt driven by 49-year-old Mark R. McClelland from Bloomfield.

Paul Heaney was driving a Toyota Prius east on Cannan Road and had stopped at the stop sign before entering the intersection. McClelland’s vehicle struck Heaney’s car, causing injuries to both Heaney and his 83-year-old passenger, Joan A. Heaney.

All involved parties were transported to FF Thompson or Strong Memorial Hospitals with apparent non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency services from East Bloomfield FD, Ionia FD, East Bloomfield EMS, and Canandaigua EMS assisted at the scene. Paul Heaney received a traffic ticket for failure to yield the right of way.
