On Monday, May 27 the NY State Veterans Cemetery in the Finger Lakes region will host a special Memorial Day observance to honor and remember our nation’s veterans. The event will begin at 2:30 p.m. at 6632 State Rt. 96A in Romulus.
“We are honored to welcome Denise R. McDonough, NYS Secretary of Veteran’s Affairs, to our 12th observance of Memorial Day in our second year as a State Veterans Cemetery,” said Bill Yale, Cemetery Director. Event highlights include a keynote speech by U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Denis R. McDonough, remarks from Commissioner Viviana DeCohen and Executive Deputy Commissioner Joel Evans, and an inspirational address by Hospice Chaplain Rev. Matthew Binkewicz.
The event will also feature a display of antique military vehicles and a military honor guard. The public is encouraged to attend and pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country. For more information, please contact 607-379-0197.
