The Watkins Glen High School Class of 2029 is organizing a walk-a-thon next weekend to support the Schuyler County Humane Society. The event is set for Saturday, June 1, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Catherine Valley Trail entrance near the school’s athletic fields.

Participants will embark on a four-mile round trip to the Humane Society and back. Donations and pledges are required at a minimum of $5 per mile, with all proceeds benefiting the Humane Society. Checks should be made payable to the Watkins Glen High School Class of 2029.

Free refreshments will be available halfway through the walk, and pizza and snacks will be provided at the finish line back at the high school.

Organizers have noted that dogs are not permitted to participate in the walk.

This initiative aims to bring the community together for a good cause while promoting physical activity and support for local animal welfare.
