Seubert admitted to committing burglary in the third degree and arson in the fourth degree. He acknowledged burglarizing campers stored in Hector, NY, and unlawfully entering a building at Hector Union Cemetery. Seubert confessed to lighting hay on fire to ignite a cigarette, which resulted in significant damage due to his failure to extinguish the fire properly.

The case was investigated by the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department, the Schuyler County Fire Investigation Task Force, and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control. Seubert is scheduled for sentencing on July 11.
