On Friday at 6 p.m., the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office will host the Ninth Annual Law Enforcement Memorial Service at the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office Memorial Park, located at 7007 Rumsey Street Extension. The event honors officers, deputies, and troopers from Steuben and six surrounding counties who sacrificed their lives for community safety.

The service will include the reading of the Roll of Honor, recognizing fallen heroes from Steuben, Allegany, Chemung, Livingston, Ontario, Schuyler, and Yates Counties. Notable speakers will include Congressman Langworthy, former Congressman Joe Sempolinski, Assemblyman Palmesano, Assemblywoman Byrnes, Steuben Legislative Chair Kelly Fitzpatrick, and Sheriff Jim Allard.

The ceremony will feature the Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard, a Hammondsport student singing the National Anthem, a 21-gun salute by the Corning American Legion and VFW Ceremonial Drill Team, and a bagpipe rendition of “Amazing Grace.” The public is encouraged to attend and support the families of the fallen heroes.
