Auto Wash, a Finger Lakes car wash company, announced plans to start construction on a new facility in the City of Hornell this summer. The car wash will be built on vacant land between Hornell Street Extension and Maple City Drive, near the Hunt Self-Storage business.
Auto Wash, founded in 1981 and family-owned, currently has the nearly 2-acre parcel under contract. The facility will feature a 3,500-square-foot car wash tunnel and vacuum stalls.
The design includes double-stacked queuing to accommodate up to 30 cars, ensuring traffic does not back up onto the street. The car wash will also hire five or six employees.
Construction is expected to take about eight months once ground is broken. If approved, Auto Wash aims to begin construction by mid-summer.
