Amid high grocery prices, discount chain ALDI announced price cuts on over 250 items through Labor Day. The markdowns include picnic and barbecue essentials and travel-ready snacks, aiming to help families enjoy summer activities without budget strain.

“We don’t want food prices to hold people back from getting together with friends and family or spending time outdoors this season,” said Dave Rinaldo, President of ALDI U.S. Price reductions include USDA Choice Black Angus sirloin steak from $8.49 to $6.99, summer sausage from $4.49 to $4.19, and a 32-ounce bag of frozen French fries from $2.79 to $2.49.

Founded in 1946 in Germany, ALDI is expanding in the U.S. The company, which has seen increased business as consumers seek savings, currently operates 15 locations in the Finger Lakes area.
