Syracuse women’s lacrosse advances to NCAA quarterfinals with win over Stony Brook

The Syracuse women’s lacrosse team has advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals for a fourth straight year with a 15-10 victory over Stony Brook on Sunday afternoon.

Syracuse struck first and never trailed in the contest, scoring 11 first-half goals before adding four more in the final two quarters.


Emma Tyrell led the Orange offense with five goals and an assist. Olivia Adamson matched her point total with three goals and three helpers. Gracie Britton found the back of the net twice and notched an assist, while Emma Ward also recorded three points (2 goals, 1 assist). Natalie Smith, Maddy Baxter, and Emma Muchnick added two points on a goal and an assist each.

Goalkeeper Delaney Sweitzer made eight saves for the Orange.

Syracuse will host Yale on Thursday, May 16, in the quarterfinals. The time of the game is to be determined.
