NY man charged with assault and manslaughter of toddler: State police investigating

State police say a New York man was arrested on serious charges after the death of a toddler.

James Christ Jr., 26, from Deposit was arrested by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation on charges of first-degree assault and second-degree manslaughter following the death of a toddler. The arrest occurred on May 11th after authorities were called to a residence on Fair Street where the child had become unresponsive.


The investigation, initiated on May 10th, led to findings that Christ recklessly caused the death of the toddler.

Christ has been remanded to the Delaware County Jail without bail. The case remains under investigation, with further details pending release as they become available.
