A collision involving two cars resulted in minor injuries and a citation on the afternoon of May 9th. Ontario County Deputies, along with Finger Lakes Ambulance and local fire departments, responded to the incident at the intersection of County Road 6 and Billsboro Road in the Town of Geneva.
The accident occurred when Elaine Cervantes, 77, from Fairport, attempted to cross County Road 6 eastbound after stopping but failed to yield to Shelley Hyde, 69, of Geneva, who was approaching from the south. Hyde, along with her two passengers, sustained minor injuries and were transported to Geneva General Hospital.
Cervantes, who was examined at the scene by emergency medical services, declined further treatment. She was subsequently cited for failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
