Tabitha Ann Stevens, 44, from Penn Yan, was arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest occurred following an incident where a young child was found wandering alone outside.

On the night of April 27, 2024, Penn Yan Police were called to Meadowside Apartments. They discovered a small child walking in the roadway on Eagle Lane, dressed only in a shirt and diaper. The child had visible abrasions on their feet and knees.

An investigation determined that Stevens, the child’s mother, had not properly supervised her child. Stevens was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date to respond to the charges.
