The New York Mets (17-18) snapped a three-game skid on Monday night with a 4-3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals (15-20) at Busch Stadium.

The game was tied at three in the top of the seventh inning before Brandon Nimmo crushed his fourth home run of the season to give the Mets the lead, and the bullpen closed it out.

DJ Stewart had a run-scoring double, Starling Marte added an RBI groundout, and Francisco Lindor chipped in a sacrifice fly.

Sean Manaea allowed three runs in six innings, earning his second win of the season. Jake Diekman, Adam Ottavino, and Edwin Díaz had scoreless outings.

Box Score

The Mets will send José Buttó to the mound on Tuesday at 7:45 p.m. as they look to take the first two games of the three-game series.
