Authorities have given an update on a DWI crash that left two children injured in Yates County. Tracey Irwin, 51, has been charged following the crash. She faces multiple charges, including Aggravated DWI with children in the car, DWAI drugs, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The incident occurred as Irwin was driving west on State Route 364 in Benton. She veered off the road, striking a mailbox before her car ascended an embankment and returned to the roadway. A nine-year-old and a seven-year-old in the vehicle suffered head, neck, and chest pains respectively and were taken to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital for treatment.

Irwin, who was unharmed in the accident, is set to appear in Benton Town Court to respond to the charges. The Yates County Sheriff’s Office conducted the investigation that led to her arrest.
