Palmyra teens’ rampage leads to grandparents’ arrest in Wayne County

  • Staff Report

In Palmyra two 14-year-old teenagers have been arrested following a series of criminal activities that have frustrated the local community. The Palmyra Police Department reported that the teens were involved in multiple incidents including criminal mischief, criminal trespass, and making graffiti. They are also linked to over 10 criminal cases each within the last year.

The continuous misconduct of these youths led to the arrest of their legal guardians. The great-grandmother of the boy, Wanda L. Milner, 77, and the grandmother of the girl, Janette Heaven, 61, were both charged on Thursday with endangering the welfare of a child and failure to exercise control of a minor. Both grandparents are residents of the Village of Palmyra.

Officials expressed reluctance over the arrests of the grandparents but described the action as a necessary measure to address the ongoing issues with the teenagers.
