The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office hosted a graduation ceremony on Friday, May 3, 2024, for its latest class of correction officers. The event celebrated the completion of a rigorous ten-week Basic School for Correction Officers, which drew participants from several counties including Cayuga, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Tompkins, and Wayne.

During the training program, the officers were educated in a variety of critical skills, such as crisis de-escalation, officer wellness, and defensive tactics. The curriculum was delivered by experienced members of the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, with additional support from partner agencies.

The ceremony marked the commencement of five new officers into their roles in law enforcement. Graduates included Officer Caleb Corbett, Officer Cole Henderson, Officer Dylan Jackson, Officer Michael MacCheyne, and Officer Kevin Zettlemoyer, all of whom are now prepared to serve their communities with the skills they have acquired.
