Waterloo police arrested an Auburn man on felony charges after an investigation into an incident that occurred on April 11.

Manuel Valentin Centeno, 43, was taken into custody last week on a felony charge of criminal contempt.

Police said Centeno was at a public building when he spotted a person he knew. That person, identified as the victim in the incident, had an active court order of protection against Centeno.

When he saw the victim he attempted to follow her into an elevator. She was able to shut the door before he got there, and was escorted to her vehicle by another person.

When the victim arrived home, Centeno was seen driving slowly by her home. Police said he drove out of his way to go by her home.

He was taken into custody without incident and will answer the charge at a later date.
