In the first quarter of 2024, ESL Federal Credit Union distributed 76 grants totaling $7 million to various local organizations dedicated to providing essential services and programs in the Greater Rochester area. The grants aim to support projects that enhance individual opportunities through education and employment, improve neighborhood conditions, and bolster community organizations.

Maureen Wolfe, executive vice president and director of human resource and community impact at ESL, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with community partners. “We are pleased to provide necessary funding to the high-quality programs and resources offered by our partners, helping our community thrive and prosper,” Wolfe stated.

One notable recipient, the Wayne County Action Program, received a substantial grant to continue its Housing Rehabilitation Assistance Program. This initiative has significantly impacted local households by providing free health and safety home repairs. “With ESL’s support, we’ve changed lives, like a resident who felt unsafe for years until we replaced his unsecured door, allowing him peace of mind and safe sleep,” shared Ryan Robbins, the program’s administrator.
