On Wednesday Ithaca police responded to a dispute involving a firearm in the parking lot of Cayuga Park Lane. Upon arrival, officers apprehended Anthony T. Zeigler, 50, from Brooklyn and Juan J. Breton, 49, from Ithaca as they were leaving the scene.
During the investigation, it was discovered that both individuals were in possession of narcotics. Zeigler had about 54 grams of fentanyl and a small amount of cocaine, which he attempted to destroy upon arrest. Breton had ingested an undetermined amount of drugs packaged for sale in an effort to hide the evidence.
Both Zeigler and Breton were charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors, including tampering with physical evidence. They were arraigned by Judge Wallace in Ithaca City Court and remanded to Tompkins County Jail without bail. The investigation was supported by the New York State Park Police and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s K9 Unit.
