A serious crash happened on Wednesday evening in Seneca County, leaving two people seriously injured, authorities say. The incident happened at the intersection of State Route 96A and East Lake Road at approximately 5:28 p.m.

Officials said a gray Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Cody J. Maher, 28, failed to stop at a posted sign, causing a collision with a red Jeep Renegade operated by Cynthia Myers, 76. The impact resulted in significant damage to both vehicles and injuries to Myers and her passenger, John Myers, 79.

The injured were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. Maher received a traffic citation and will face charges in the Town of Fayette Court. Emergency services, including the Border City Fire Department and North Seneca Ambulance, provided assistance at the scene.
