The Syracuse Crunch defeated the Rochester Americans, 2-1, in double overtime on Thursday night at the Upstate Medical University Arena to take a 2-1 series lead in the best-of-five North Division semifinals.
Walterri Merela netted the game-winner for the Crunch on a breakaway at 10:18 in the second overtime.
Alex Barré-Boulet tallied the first goal for Syracuse, and Isak Rosén scored the lone goal for Rochester on a penalty shot.
