Wayne County Sheriff Rob Milby recently announced the graduation of Deputy James Dunlap from the New York State Basic SWAT Operator’s Course last Friday. The intensive four-week training program equipped Dunlap with advanced police tactics essential for high-risk operations.

Deputy Dunlap’s new skills qualify him to join the county’s Emergency Response Team. This specialized unit is tasked with handling potentially volatile situations safely and effectively, aiming to prevent injury during critical incidents.

Celebrating this achievement, Deputy Dunlap was photographed alongside Lt. Matt Hilkert, Sergeant Nick Yates, and Detective Sergeant Zack Aunkst. Sheriff Milby commended Dunlap’s hard work and dedication, emphasizing the importance of well-trained response teams in maintaining community safety.
