The Rochester Folk Art Guild will kick off its summer programming with a performance by the “Good Company” Recorder Ensemble on May 19. To be held in the Guild’s Meeting Hall at 1445 Upper Hill Road, the event will be sponsored by the Daria Kindrat-Pratt Memorial Fund and should attract music enthusiasts eager to experience a range of historical compositions.

The ensemble, under the creative direction of Rob Kerner, features recorders of various sizes, delivering a performance reminiscent of the eras before and including Bach. Their repertoire spans from Renaissance pieces to adaptations of works by Brahms and Ravel, providing a unique auditory journey through time.

This event, free to the public and supported also by NYSCA and the Auburn Public Theater, not only commemorates Daria Kindrat-Pratt’s legacy but also marks the beginning of a series of cultural events aimed at enhancing community engagement. The Rochester Folk Art Guild continues to be a hub for traditional arts in the Finger Lakes region, offering a summer full of artistic and educational activities.
