Cayuga County man arrested for forcible touching, held on $5,000 bail

  • Staff Report

In Moravia authorities arrested 64-year-old Arthur W. Kenyon on charges of forcible touching, a misdemeanor offense, on April 25 at 8:54 p.m.. The arrest followed an investigation by deputies and a New York State Trooper into a sexual offense reported earlier that evening.

The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, accused Kenyon, a registered level 3 sex offender, of inappropriately grabbing her while she was asleep. The alleged incident occurred without her consent. Following the investigation, law enforcement took Kenyon into custody.

Kenyon was later arraigned, and a court issued an Order of Protection against him. He was remanded to Cayuga County Jail with the option of posting either $5,000 in bail or a $10,000 bond. Further court appearances are scheduled in the Town of Moravia Court.

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
