Three individuals have officially entered the race for the Penn Yan Central School District Board of Education. Candidates Thomas Barden, Denise Hopkins, and Alicen Pidlisny have submitted the necessary petitions to qualify for the ballot. This year’s election, scheduled for May 21, will determine who will fill two three-year terms and one four-year term on the board. The candidate receiving the highest number of votes will secure the four-year term.
The community will cast their votes at the Penn Yan Academy gymnasium, with polls open from noon until 8 p.m. This election coincides with the district’s annual budget vote.
This election follows standard procedures in the district, providing community members the opportunity to influence educational leadership and school governance through their participation.
