Six finalists being considered for Canandaigua town manager’s job

Six finalists are in contention to become the next town manager, following the January departure of the previous manager, Doug Finch. The candidates, whose identities remain confidential, were selected through a search process managed by consultant Ian Coyle from Livonia. The Town Board, led by Supervisor Jared Simpson, plans to conduct interviews in May.

The town has been on the lookout for a new manager since Finch moved to a similar role in Duncanville, Texas. In the interim, Supervisor Simpson has taken on full-time responsibilities to oversee town operations.

Additionally, during the April 22 board meeting, discussions continued regarding amendments to the town zoning code on short-term property rentals. A public hearing is set to resume in May, where the board expects to vote on the final version of the amendments.
