The top-seeded Syracuse women’s lacrosse team defeated Louisville, 17-9, on Wednesday to advance to the ACC Tournament semifinals for the second straight year.
Emma Tyrrell and Emma Ward led the way on offense for the Orange. Tyrrell posted six points (four goals, two assists), while Ward finished with four points (three goals, one assist). Overall, nine different players scored at least one goal, with five finding the back of the net multiple times.
On the defensive end, Katie Goodale tied her career high with five caused turnovers and became Syracuse’s single-season leader with 40 in 2024. She also picked up four ground balls.
Kate Mashewske recorded 15 draw controls, including the 500th of her career. She becomes just the ninth player in Division I history to reach the milestone.
Syracuse will face fifth-seeded Virginia on Friday, April 26, at 5 p.m. at American Legion Stadium in Charlotte.
