Girl Scouts open summer camps to all K-12 youth

  • Staff Report

The Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways (GSNYPENN) are inviting all K-12 youth to experience their summer camp programs, offering both day and overnight options. With local school districts currently on spring break, caregivers are starting to plan for summer activities that promote independence and offer a break from screen time. GSNYPENN camps are open to all youths, not just registered Girl Scouts, across their four outdoor properties.

Liz Schmidt, GSNYPENN’s Vice President of Property & Programs, highlighted the numerous benefits of their summer camps. “Youth attending our camps will engage in activities that foster courage, confidence, resilience, and community. They will enjoy nature, learn leadership skills, and build social connections,” said Schmidt. These programs aim to keep children active and immersed in nature throughout July and August.

Interested caregivers can register their children at girlslovecamp.org, with rolling registration open through the end of June. GSNYPENN also offers financial assistance for members. In addition to campers, GSNYPENN is hiring day and overnight camp counselors, with details available at gsnypenn.org/careers.
