The New York State Department of Transportation announced a public meeting regarding the replacement of the Route 34 bridge over the Seneca River in Brutus. The meeting will be held at Brutus Town Hall on Thursday, April 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. Community members can review preliminary plans and discuss the project with DOT representatives at this open-house style event.
The existing bridge, built in 1963, will be replaced due to its age and condition. The new bridge will be constructed seven feet east of the current location and will feature wider lanes and an eight-foot shoulder to enhance safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
Construction plans are still being finalized, with details on timelines yet to be determined. For more information or special accommodations for the meeting, attendees are encouraged to contact Louis Elefante at the DOT.
