Mets roll past Pirates to complete three-game sweep

The New York Mets rolled past the Pittsburgh Pirates, 9-1, on Wednesday afternoon to complete the three-game sweep. 

New York (10-8) has won 10 of their last 13 games, including four straight and six of seven. 

Starling Marte and Harrison Bader both hit two-run home runs. Tyrone Taylor went 3-for-4 with a two-run single, Brandon Nimmo added two hits and a two-run single, while Francisco Alvarez chipped in an RBI. 

Luis Severino allowed just one unearned run over six innings to improve to 2-1. Jorge López, Jake Diekman, and Grant Hartwig combined for three scoreless.

The Mets will get the day off Thursday before they begin a six-game West Coast trip on Friday in Los Angeles against the Dodgers. The first pitch is set for 10:10 p.m.
