Canandaigua Lake Watershed Forum focuses on conservation and water quality

The Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association, in collaboration with the Finger Lakes Land Trust and the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Council, will host a Watershed Forum at Hotel Canandaigua on Wednesday, May 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will focus on the health of Canandaigua Lake and strategies for its preservation.

Experts including Dr. Lisa Cleckner from the Finger Lakes Institute, Dr. Greg Boyer from SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry, Anthony Prestigiacomo from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, and Andy Zepp from the Finger Lakes Land Trust, will share insights on current water quality issues and conservation efforts. Topics discussed ranged from algal toxins to the impact of land conservation on water quality.

The forum will emphasize community involvement in sustaining lake health, with a panel discussion led by Watershed Manager Kevin Olvany. Click here if you’d like to register or learn more.
