WWE Return to New York

WWE returns to the New York area at the end of May and beginning of June. It’s an exciting time in the sports entertainment company after the massive success of WrestleMania XL in early April.

On Friday May 31, Smackdown will be at the MVP Arena in Albany. The following night the Supershow Summer Tour arrives at the Westchester County Center in White Plains. Both nights promise to be exciting evenings full of WWE action and probably a few surprises too.

Betting on professional wrestling remains extremely popular around the globe. In Canada, gamblers regularly visit to check out the latest odds that are available on matches.

April’s WrestleMania XL weekend saw massive changes in the company. Nearly all the major titles changed hands. Only Rhea Ripley, who beat Becky Lynch to retain her Women’s World title left Philadelphia still champion. Just what will the Australian be doing in New York?

Cody Rhodes became the new Undisputed WWE Universal champion when beating Roman Reigns. ‘The American Nightmare’ is scheduled to be appearing at the Supershow Summer Tour event on June 1. It’s possible he might just be at the Smackdown show the previous evening.

This year has been a truly momentous one for Rhodes. January saw him win the Royal Rumble for the second successive year. He then entered into a massive feud, not just with Roman Reigns but the returning Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock.

The son of wrestling legend Dusty Rhodes looks set for a long title reign. A match with The Rock is already looking likely at WrestleMania XLI.

Women’s wrestling remains highly popular in WWE. Long gone are the days when the company called their female wrestlers ‘Diva’s.’

Now they are given longer matches without any of the previous gimmicks that concentrated more on seeing them lose their clothing than being pinned or made to submit.

Becky Lynch has recently published her autobiography and has won several titles in WWE. The Irish woman may have come up short in her challenge against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania XL but remains determined to again become champion.

The two shows in New York may well see some great women’s matches take place. Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill could well make appearances. New WWE women’s champion Bayley could also feature on at least one of the shows.

It’s a big year for WWE with viewing figures starting to climb again. They are also becoming even more of a global company. This year sees them holding major shows in France, Germany, Scotland, Canada and Saudi Arabia.

Going to their shows in New York will be an excellent opportunity to see their top wrestlers in action.
