Glenora Wine Cellars’ Gene Pierce receives prestigious wine industry award

Gene Pierce, President and Owner of Glenora Wine Cellars in Dundee, New York, was honored with the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association’s “Productivity Tray” award. The ceremony took place on April 17 at Veraisons Restaurant at the Inn at Glenora Wine Cellars. This award recognizes significant contributions to the sustainable growth and economic vitality of the American wine industry.

Steve DiFrancesco, Winemaker Emeritus of Glenora and board member of the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association, presented the award. DiFrancesco praised Pierce’s long-standing influence and dedication to the Finger Lakes wine industry, noting his roles as a grape grower, winery, restaurant, and hotel owner.

Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Pierce remarked on the privilege of contributing to the industry and witnessing the Finger Lakes region’s rise in prominence. The award ceremony highlighted Pierce’s lifelong commitment to enhancing the wine industry’s profile and productivity.
