Sabres win home finale, beat Capitals 4-2

The Buffalo Sabres, eliminated from playoff contention for a 13th straight year earlier in the week, picked up a 4-2 victory over the Washington Capitals in their final home game on Thursday night.

Zach Benson (10), Alex Tuch (22), Jack Quinn (8), and Dylan Cozens (16) scored for Buffalo (38-37-5), while Henri Jokiharju and Jordan Greenway tallied assists.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 22 of the 24 shots he faced, improving to 27-22-3 on the season.

The Sabres will get the day off Friday before they visit the Florida Panthers on Saturday for a 5 p.m. faceoff.
