The second-ranked William Smith lacrosse team was defeated by 18th-ranked Ithaca at Higgins Stadium this afternoon. With the loss, the Heorns are 11-1 on the season and 5-1 in Liberty League play.
Sophomore Natalie Daniels scored all three goals for William Smith in the game. Senior Kate Risley had two caused turnovers and four ground balls. Daniels also led the Herons with two draw controls. Junior Maura Smeader played all 60 minutes in goal and made 10 saves.
Caroline Wise led Ithaca (10-1, 6-0) with four points on two goals and two assists. She also had 17 draw controls and three ground balls. Maizy Veitch had four goals. Lexi Held made three saves in 60 minutes in goal for the Bombers.
