Bomb threat in Ithaca: Police say DeWitt Mall, specific individuals were threatened

The Ithaca Police Department and Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bomb threat that they were alerted to on Sunday.

According to a news release, shortly before noon authorities received a bomb threat. “The threat specifically identified the DeWitt Mall, and several individuals as targets,” IPD said in a statement.

Both departments responded to investigate the threat.

The DeWitt Mall was promptly checked and no explosives were found, police said.

Authorities were also assisted by state police and Cornell Police.

Police say there’s no evidence at this time that the threat was credible.
