Ithaca man faces felony charges after vandalism, false fire alarm spree

The Ithaca Police Department (IPD) has successfully apprehended a 25-year-old suspect, Salim Dridi, linked to a series of disruptive incidents on Dryden Road, including property vandalism and multiple false fire alarm activations.

The arrest follows a detailed investigation into events that began on March 31 with a brick being hurled at a glass door, and continued with repeated false fire alarms that strained emergency services and disturbed local residents.

After collaborating with the Cornell University Police Department, the IPD charged Dridi with criminal mischief and falsely reporting an incident—both considered E felonies.

Dridi was arraigned and released on his own recognizance, with a court date set for April 10.
