Mennonite teen identified in Gorham drowning, Sheriff says foul play not suspected

Sheriff David Cirencione has provided an update on the drowning that claimed the life of a 13-year-old in Ontario County on Thursday.

Jeromy Weaver, 13, died after falling into a creek on Blodgett Road in Gorham.


The 13-year-old attended Meadowview Mennonite Community School.

Sheriff Cirencione shared his condolences with family and community after the incident. “Our thoughts are with Jeromy’s family and community during this most difficult time,” he said. “We also thank all first responders and medical staff who worked tirelessly for over two hours trying to save Jeromy.”

Foul play is not suspected, Cirencione added.
