Blockbuster: Bills trade star WR Stefon Diggs to Texans

The Buffalo Bills are trading star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans for a 2025 second-round pick, according to ESPN’s Diana Russini

Houston is also acquiring a 2025 fifth and sixth-rounder from the Bills.

The Bills will carry a dead money charge of $31.096 million next season after trading Diggs, according to Roster Management System. That will be the highest-known dead money charge ever for a wide receiver in any season, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.

The deal ends a four-year run for Diggs in Buffalo that saw the 30-year-old make four consecutive Pro Bowls and score a total of 37 touchdowns. The trade also pairs him with quarterback C.J. Stroud, who won Offensive Rookie of the Year and led the Texans to the playoffs.

Diggs’ best season came in 2020 when he caught a league-best 127 passes for 1,535 yards and eight TDs.

Before his time in Buffalo, Diggs spent the first five seasons of his career with the Minnesota Vikings after being selected in the fifth round in 2015.
