In Cayuga County Court, Timothy P. Martin, a 37-year-old from Auburn, received a prison sentence on Tuesday for holding a stolen firearm along with significant amounts of drugs. The court handed Martin a 4.5-year state prison term for second-degree criminal weapon possession and a concurrent four-year term for possessing controlled substances, fentanyl, and methamphetamines, followed by post-release supervision.

The arrest came in October after the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force conducted an investigation, culminating in a traffic stop and searches of Martin’s vehicle and home. Authorities found a stolen loaded handgun, a shotgun, body armor, and drugs prepared for distribution, highlighting the serious nature of his criminal activities.

Martin’s sentencing also addresses misdemeanor charges for acquiring body armor unlawfully and having fake drugs.
