Ontario County Sheriff’s Office unveils new mobile app (video)

Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione recently announced the launch of a new smartphone application designed to foster better communication between the sheriff’s office and the residents of Ontario County.

Developed by, a division of OCV, LLC, known for creating mobile solutions for public safety organizations, the app is geared towards providing crucial information swiftly and effectively to users on their smartphones.

It encompasses a variety of features, including news and alerts, inmate information, most wanted lists, sex offender tracking, and options to commend deputies or submit tips.

This modern approach to law enforcement communication underscores the increasing reliance on smartphones for information dissemination, with over 80 percent of Americans using them as their primary communication tool.

The app, which is now available for free download on the App Store and Google Play, is seen as a strategic move to leverage technology in enhancing public safety and service. Kevin Cummings, OCV Partner and CRO, emphasized the app’s role in enabling agencies to alert, inform, and prepare the public more effectively by meeting citizens on the platforms they use most.
