The board also made key appointments, including Tom Letteer as deputy mayor. Mayor Gerry Messmer shared updates on the village water improvement project, highlighting that the first phase of replacing old water pipes on Merchant Avenue has begun, with plans to extend the work to additional streets.

The initiative to update Odessa’s water infrastructure is moving forward, with Phase Two focusing on building a new water treatment facility. This next stage is expected to take about 18 months to complete, aiming to enhance the village’s water system significantly.
