An investigation is underway after one person was airlifted from the scene of a serious crash in Yates County a little before 6 p.m. in the town of Torrey.
The crash happened on Leach Road, according to the sheriff’s office, who noted a vehicle had reportedly rolled over and collided with a utility pole.
Upon further investigation it was determined that Troy Wise, 34, of Penn Yan swerved to avoid a bicyclist, exited the roadway, and then struck the utility pole. His vehicle rolled into a farm field.
Mercy Flight transported Wise to a hospital in Rochester, according to first responders.
