Seneca Falls woman arrested for second time in 2024 following CPS investigation

Police arrested a Seneca Falls woman after an investigation brought on by a request from Seneca County Child Protective Services.

Jessica Hopf, 34, was arrested for child endangerment after an investigation last week. This wasn’t her first brush with law enforcement. In fact, Hopf was arrested for obstruction and harassment in February.

According to a news release, CPS requested the Seneca Falls Police Department to respond with them to investigate the living conditions of Hopf’s residence where a young child also resides last week. Upon investigation it was determined that the living conditions were an immediate risk to the child’s welfare.

The presence of drug paraphernalia, alongside knives and broken glass within the child’s reach, posed an immediate risk and safety concern for the child. Consequently, Hopf was charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child and was transported to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center for arraignment.

An order of protection has been sought on behalf of the child, who has since been entrusted to the care of a different family member residing elsewhere.
